The Organic Fine Food Company of Bridgetown, WA, starred in this year’s prestigious Australasian Food Challenge Awards, held in Sydney on July 13, 2011, before an audience of 350 food professionals. It was the only WA company in the finalists, the only company from the 150 entries from Australia and New Zealand selected as finalists in three categories, and the only company to win in two categories. Its newly released WorkSnaK Mini-Smoothies won both the Snack Food Award and the Packaging Design Award.
In July, The Organic Fine Food Company released the unique range of shelf stable all-fruit Mini-Smoothies under their WorkSnaK and KidSnaK brands to supply low calorie healthy snacks. They are intended for adults in the busy workplace and children at school and play.
The Mini-Smoothies are deliciously smooth and refreshing and come in six different flavours. They are sold ready-to-drink in convenient snack size plastic tubs with tamper proof lids, in boxes of two 115 g tubs, with straws provided. The tubs are BPA free. The Mini-Smoothies can be stored at ambient temperature with a shelf life of 9 months. They are made in the company’s own certified organic on-farm factory using primarily Australian grown fruit.
The Mini-Smoothies are made from fruit without milk or milk products using certified organic and natural ingredients. They contain no artificial colours or flavours, and contain no preservatives. The natural sweetener Stevia is used to avoid added sugar or concentrated fruit juice. They are 99% fat-free and gluten free and contain only about one tenth of the calories in the typical chocolate bar on a per 100 g basis.
